Tenants
invest in Tower Park, Poole, following £5.5m makeover
X-Leisure recently celebrated the completion of its extensive
£5.5 million extension and modernisation work at Tower
Park Leisure Park in Poole, Dorset.
X-Leisure extended Tower Park with the construction of
a 16,000 sq ft plaza of restaurants that has been fully
let to KFC, Nandos, TGI Fridays and Flame Oriental Chinese
Buffet.
On the back of X-Leisure’s extensive investment,
Bowlplex have just completed a £1.5m refit of their
unit at Tower Park. A local company with a significant national
presence, Bowlplex now has 16 bowling centres across the
UK. With its head office less than five miles away, Bowlplex
views its Tower Park unit as the flagship destination.
In addition, LA Fitness has just opened a new 16,660 sq
ft health and fitness centre. Occupying a previously vacant
unit on the park, the unit has been taken on a 25-year lease.
The refurbishment works, completed by ROK, also included
the demolition of the Old Splashdown Tower (part of the
water park) and the construction of a new state-of-the-art
Dragon Flume Ride – a 90-metre flume with sound and
light effects.
PY Gerbeau, Chief Executive of X-Leisure, comments:
“Tower Park is an important element in our portfolio
of leisure destinations. One of the UK’s very first
integrated leisure park destinations to open, Tower Park
has enjoyed continued success since it first opened in 1989.
However, it was definitely time to modernise the Park, and
the major refurbishment has created exciting new facilities
and a fresh ‘front of house’ image.
The introduction of a variety of new restaurants, a thrilling
new water ride, the refurbishment of Bowlplex and the opening
of LA Fitness, enhances the all-weather facilities for visitors
and confirms Tower Park’s status as the leading family
fun destination in the region.”
